This year, the following categories will be honoured - a reflection of the diversity and creativity of the global rum scene. Each category recognises special production methods, ageing processes and flavour experiences that delight rum lovers.

Molasses rum <10 YO

Rum made from molasses with an age indication of less than 10 years.
The age indication refers to the youngest distillate in the blend.

Molasses Rum 10+ YO

Rum made from molasses with an age indication of at least 10 years.
The age indication refers to the youngest distillate in the blend.

Molasses Rum No Age Statement (NAS)

Rum made from molasses without age statement.
Permitted as long as no indication of ripening time or age is given.

Cane Juice R(h)um

R(h)um from fresh sugar cane juice.

Single Cask R(h)um

R(h)um, which is bottled from a single barrel.
The contents are not mixed with other barrels, the barrel number is traceable.

Rum Based Spirit Drinks

Spirits with rum as a base, which are flavoured, sweetened or mixed with other ingredients.
They are no longer legally categorised as rum and have a minimum alcohol content of 15 % vol. and a maximum sugar content of 100g/L.

Rum Based Liqueurs

Rum-based liqueurs.
Minimum alcohol content 15 % vol., minimum sugar content 100 g/l.
